Are you a driver that loves to get to you destination as quickly as possible? Are you sick of stopping every week to fill up your tank with another $40-50 worth of gasoline? If you are, listen up. We may be able to save you some money, with some easy tips. There are many things that we can do as driving to increase our gas mileage. One of the most effective ways is by slowing down. Surely we have heard this tip before, but have never actually stopped to see why.

What does slowing down entail? Driving slower, slower acceleration, and stopping more gradually. These three things could increase your mileage by up to 30%. Let’s break this down together.

Driving slower the next time you go out. Most of us hate to be the person that they have to wait impatiently behind. If you pay attention, the only thing that driving faster does, is getting you to the red light first. Taking five miles per hour off the way you drive can have a dramatic increase.

Slower acceleration is a tricky one. If you live near a highway, it’s a really frustrating one. Trying to move onto the highway not while going the speed track speeds, seems dangerous. If anything slowing down coming onto the expressway is much saver than zooming with traffic.

Stopping more gradually is easy. This one, everyone is guilty of. We have all been behind the quick stoppers. Causing you to slam on you breaks as well. This is an easy one to adopt.

So it has now been a month and you realize that you seem to have filled up for gas one less time than last month. Take the savings over the course of a year and you can end up with $600 is your pocket.

Enjoy your day and take drive on the town. Slowly.
