Companies, especially small businesses, are finding out that one of the easiest ways to begin their greening efforts is with their IT Departments.  According to Yahoo Green, one simple step companies can take is to eliminate screen savers from computers.  Back when computers had tube monitors, screen savers were used to prevent burn-in, a permanent shadow branded into the phosphors of the monitor by a static image.  Flat screen LCD monitors don’t burn in, so when someone is not sitting in front of the monitor, it should be off.
