Air drying your clothes saves 800lbs of coal from being burned to power your electric dryer -- that's 1400lbs of C02.  A dryer also uses 5750 watts per hour of electricity or on average 6000kwh per year.

Remember not to leave clothes out too long in the sun as the sun can bleach it...be prompt in taking them off, or dry during the evening.

This is one of those simple, yet impactful habits that everyone could start doing right now.  In most countries people do not use electric/gas powered dryers. I was visiting my buddy in Japan a few years ago and I learned about this first hand.  His family hang dries their clotes...they don't even have a dryer and he said this is pretty much the norm.

My wife is addicted to the dryer, but I'm really trying hard to get us to hang dry during the warm months. The picture of the clothes rack outside was submitted by me...this is what I try to do as often as I can.

We also have a clothes line in our basement, and I've been trying to hang dry our clothes down there during the winter months when possible.

Your clothes will last longer too, as the extra wear-and-tear from dryers lessens the life of your clothes substantially.
