Waiting until your dishwasher is actually full before running it is far more efficient than running it when it's not full.  You can save water, energy, and money by just waiting for a full load.

Dishwashers use about 10 gallons of water per cycle.  If you save 1/10th of the space in a load, and you run the dishwasher 100 times a year, you save about 10 full loads, which is a conservative estimate of the potential savings that could result from this solution.

This solution saves about 200lbs of CO2 a year and about $40.
