Presume everyone has seen the issue surrounding SIGG by now. Your old bottles may be dangerous as they do contain BPA in the liner.

I'm not sure where my son purchased it but I have a "green bottle" which according to the tag is stainless.

A littl ecomments: the SIGG is not "PURE" aluminium as the inside is coated with a material the composition we still need to get an answer for from them - and we at the Green (Living) Review have asked. Apparently it is a "secret" formula and given the Swiss with secrecy we will never know.

Don't get me wrong, folks. I have got a SIGG and love it but I have also got a "We Want Tap" bottle that is a non BPA containing hard plastic with recycled stainless steel top and bottom...

Just wantes to say that about the alu bit... it is not JUST aluminium and that is also where I want to ask as to recyclability.

I love the Sigg bottles and I have been trying to purchase a couple bottles for a little while now, but with all of the choices I was having a hard time making up my mind.  Finally I decided on which ones I wanted a couple of weeks ago.  When I went back online yesterday to check my order their was a message saying they were limiting shipments for the next couple of months to be able to meet demand.  I don't know if my order will ship, but I hope so.

I just purchased my first Sigg for my son. EVERYWHERE I have searched seems to be out of Kleen Kanteen, and their website it so overwhelmed that last I looked they weren't taking new orders. I like the look of the Siggs, and if this first one goes well I will upgrade my bottle too. Everything we own is BPA LOADED so it is high time to make the transition anyway.

Kleen Kanteen is also an amazing product much like Sigg, except it's not aluminum.  There are concerns about aluminum causing Alzheimer's and other diseases, but given that Sigg is a Swiss company, I must say I have faith in their composition.

The other question then is whether these bottles used cradle-to-cradle technology...what happens when you do end up disposing of them?  I think in this regard, the Kleen Kanteen has the advantage because it is 100% stainless steel, which is one of the most recyclable materials known to man.
