The Church Of Stop Shopping....yes it is a real church and probably the only church I will ever support. Statement of Belief :: Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir believe that Consumerism is overwhelming our lives. The corporations want us to have experiences only through their products. Our neighborhoods, "commons" places like stoops and parks and streets and libraries, are disappearing into the corporatized world of big boxes and chain stores.

This goes to the three Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle, in that order. The most effective for the environment is "Reduce" because then no energy or materials whatsoever are used. Do you really need that piece of clothing when you already have a closet full? Do you really need that knick-knack from Target that's going to collect dust in some corner? No, no you don't. Call a friend or go for a walk...much more fulfilling!
