An e-card, e-vite, e-invite is a perfect way to save trees, paper, waste, and emissions.  You can choose from hallmark, e-vite, and a host of other services.  See links below.

Every year, 2.65 billion holiday cards are sold in the United States. This holiday season, send an e-card instead. If you choose to buy cards, select those that are made from recycled paper. If you're planning on throwing a holiday party, send e-invites in place of traditional paper invitations. Also, recycle any cards or invites that you receive. This can be applied to all major holidays, birthdays, and events throughout the year!

For free e-cards and e-invites, visit:

The CC Effect estimates are based on sending about 50 regular card invites a year.

I haven't enjoyed the e-cards but send email invites, thanks, photos and so on...so I'm sure that counts.

Can we include the fact that there is a certain amount of energy used by your computer when you send these?  It would be perfectly green only if we could send invites telepathically....so let's assess how much energy via the computer is used (the more thorough the better)!

This is a GREAT solution though, incorporating wonderful online services with the green movement that may not have already been recognized as green!

Great solution.  You can also send your thank you notes and cards via e-cards.  You also save on the CO2 emissions from the postal trucks carrying your greeting cards.
