We're just starting to understand how potentially harmful and dangerous fireworks can really be. The fallout from their fuel and combustible agents has been proven to damage both the environment and the human lung- we're still not sure how severely.

With a green-friendly solution in mind, here's a short list of some basic alternatives to fireworks... you should be able to find everything you need around the house.

-Replace sparklers with glow sticks

-Throw confetti instead of lighting fireworks

-Create a Mentos/Coke volcano

-Create a bonfire and invite your friends

-Fill a jar with fire flies, nature's fireworks
